Geer Cemetery Cleanup

What: At least twice every year, Keep Durham Beautiful sends volunteers to help restore the historic Geer Cemetery in east Durham. This was one of the most prominent African American cemeteries in Durham at the turn of the century, but has since fallen into disuse. No one claims ownership over this property, so it's up to volunteers to help maintain this historic and hallowed ground! We'll be picking up brush, removing vines, (potentially) uprighting some fallen gravestones, and learning a lot while doing it.
