Keep Durham Beautiful Grant Programs

Keep Durham Beautiful currently has two grant programs:

The KDB Community Grant Program gives grants of up to $500 for projects where volunteers are taking greater responsibility for their community environement through improvement projects or programs that relate to KDB's focus issues of litter, recycling and beautification. 

KDB also provides help for teachers.  The KDB Teacher Grant Program is specifically for teachers in Durham with projects that are unfunded through their current schools.  The Teacher Grants are up to $250 adn must relate to KDB's focus issues of litter, recycling and beautification. 
 

Deadlines!

The Keep Durham Beautiful Board of Directors Grant Review Committee reviews grants every quarter:  in January, April, July, and October.  Get your application in by the deadline and it will be reviewed within 30 days.
 

  • December 20 for January review and award
  • March 20 for April review and award
  • June 20 for July review and award
  • September 20 for October review and award

 

Funding

KDB fundraises every year for the specific purpose of assisting community partners pay for projects that relate to our focus issues of litter prevention, recycling and waste reduction, and beautification.  Want to help us raise money?  Join us by helping support the KDB Golf Classic each May
 

Reporting

Each grant, when completed, must provid einformation to Keep Durham Beautiful about the project they have completed.  This information is vital to let us know your project went, how many people were involved, what unexpected issues came up, or what wonderful sucesses you had.  Grant Awardees can find the grant report here.

 

"Fine Print"

Grants are discretionary and may be awarded or denied in the sole discretion of Keep Durham Beautiful.  Among many factors that may be considered in awarding grants are the manner in which it a proposed project supports the mission of Keep Durham Beautiful, the size and scope of a proposed project, how it complements other projects or activities supported by Keep Durham Beautiful and its impact on our community.  In addition, Keep Durham Beautiful may not have sufficient funding to support all worthwhile projects and may be forced to choose among competing projects.  Keep Durham Beautiful reserves the right to refuse grants to any organizations or projects that do not, in the opinion of the Keep Durham Beautiful, support the values of the organization.  All grants must be approved by Keep Durham Beautiful and will only be awarded if funds are available.
