Adopt-A-Stream

Durham’s streams lead to two major regional drinking water sources: Falls Lake and Jordan Lake. Everyone should do their part to ensure clean, healthy water for all.

KDB partners with the City of Durham Public Works Department Storm water Division for the Stream Adoption program.  This program provides opportunities for Durham residents to help protect our waterways from pollution that threatens drinking water quality, aquatic life, and the recreational value of our streams and lakes.

The three levels of adoption allow for a range of participation, depending on your interest and time availability. Look at the Stream Adoption Details to learn exactly how you can help care for a stream. A two-year commitment is required. Group size and stream length will vary.  Contact us get involved.
