Keep Durham Beautiful Litter Index

Every year in February, Keep Durham Beautiful conducts  a visual survey of the amount of litter in Durham called the Litter Index.

Volunteers from the community are shown how and then are driven into the community for a visual inspection of specific streets, which are randomly chosen and cover most of the city and county.

The streets are chosen at random In order to make the data comparable from one year to the next the chosen roads remain the same for a minimum of three years.

The Litter Index is done every year by all Keep America Beautiful Affiliates.

If you would like to take part in the next Litter index please register your interest here.  This will put your name on our Litter Index mailing list and you will be informed when the date and time have been chosen.  You can decide at that time if you are interested, and can register to attend.
