KDB Volunteers at work!
On February 25th over 30 volunteers from all over Durham met at the herald Sun Civic Room to prepare to take part in the 6th annual KDB Litter Index. After a brief training film they got into vans and spread out over Durham County to survey a pre-selected group of roads. These roads are randomly chosen and cover residential, business, agricultural and industrial areas, as well as City roads. The results of the survey help Keep Durham Beautiful determine what type of litter is most prevalent in Durham, what types of programs are working and how to plan for future events.
