  • March 2024 Meeting Follow Up

    We gathered at the HUB Farm in March under the pavillion for a visioning session of what we’d like the community garden network to be. Please find the notes here from our March Gathering of the Durham Community Garden Network. 

  • October 17 Gathering at SEEDS

    We gathered for a tour with Erin Holden, Executive Director of SEEDS on a beautiful evening to walk through the garden, explore their initiatives, and then discussed needs and collaboration opportunties. Find the notes here.

  • Quarterly Gathering Plan

    • When we last met in March 2024 at the Durham Hub Farm, our group suggested we meet quarterly at community gardens around Durham to network and learn from each other.

City of Durham Community Engagement Mini-Grants

Ag Economic Development Grant Program Durham County schools, gardens and farmers are eligible.

  • Application Deadline: Aug 25, 2025  

  • Apply for Ag Economic Development Grant Program

  • The Agricultural Economic Development Grant Program is funded by the Durham Board of County Commissioners. The purpose of the AEDGP is to offer cost share grants to assist farmers and nonprofits in their agricultural endeavors and to promote Agriculture Development and Outdoor Environmental Learning Centers in schools.

  • Applications are open from July 1, 2025, until 11:59 p.m. on August 25, 2025.

  • Applications will be posted atdconc.gov/SWCD– click on Ag Economic Development.

Interfaith Food Shuttle

  • Gardens for Everyone - Inter-Faith Food Shuttle wants to help you get started by building a 4’ x 8’ raised-bed garden box with you and supporting you along the way from seed to harvest. Sliding fee from $25-$200.

Keep Durham Beautiful

  • Tool Lending Library

  • Wood Chips - at certain times of the year, City Urban Forestry donates wood chips to KDB for use by community spaces, contact info@keepdurhambeautiful.org to request wood chips.

  • Volunteers - contact info@keepdurhambeautiful.org to request a group of volunteers. Volunteers and gardens are matched at mutually convenient times. Garden must provide someone to guide volunteers.

  • Compost - We are a CompostNow Garden Partner, which means we can request loads of compost to be delivered to your garden. The cost of the compost is free, but there is a $75 delivery fee that we request the organization receiving the compost pays. You can also apply to be a Garden Partner - learn more here!
