The lower third of Durham County resides in the Jordan Lake Basin. The Durham watersheds within this basin include Sandy Creek, Third Fork Creek, Northeast Creek, New Hope Creek, Mud Creek, and Stirrup Iron Creek. Join Clean Jordan Lake for a cleanup at the Jordan Lake State Park New Hope Overlook! This is an area that haven't been visited in many years for a cleanup, and reports are that it is heavily trashed after Chantal last year.

This event can accomodate boaters, kayakers, and walkers. Volunteers with their own boats are needed to help ferry volunteers and carry back collected trash bags.
