Invasive Plant Removal at Sandy Creek Park

  • Sandy Creek Park 3510 Sandy Creek Drive Durham, NC, 27707 United States (map)

Join us on Monday, October 13 from 9:30-11:30AM to remove harmful invasive plants from Sandy Creek Park (3510 Sandy Creek Dr). This is a rescheduled date from September.

Volunteers between the ages of 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult. This event is not recommended for volunteers under the age of 12.

Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes or boots, pants and long sleeves, and bring a reusable water bottle. Tools and gloves will be provided but we encourage volunteers with their own labeled pruners and saws to bring them along.

We will be working in the woods, so please dress appropriately for the weather and the conditions. There are prickly roses and poison ivy on site. Bug spray ahead of arriving would not go amiss.

We will be meeting in the main car park. If it is full, please park along the road side adjacent to the car park.
